PreCruise Tour Offered by HAL

My husband and I are on the 4 February HAL sailing from Sydney to Auckland. I was hoping to hear from someone who may have taken the pre cruise package that HAL offers. We are planning to spend 4 days in Sydney prior to sailing and had hoped to travel to Cairns on our own but thought it might be easier to join the arranged tour through HAL. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

It's going to take a day each way to get to Cairns and back. Not really an otion I could reccommend.

Taking cruise next Feb. Did you opt for any pre cruise travel with HAL or did you do it on your own. We will be going in 5 days early to Sydney and want to see as much as possible....Thank you for any input
