We only went to one jewelry store because we had a coupon for a free gemstone (did get a free topaz). The jewelry was beautiful but quite expensive - as in thousands, not hundreds. Fun to look but not anything that we could afford.

There are some wonderful deals in Aruba for Jewelry and also for purses. This is a world class shopping port, so keep in mind they won't be "giving" these items away, but the selection in items is massive. Educate yourself prior to your trip about qualities and prices of jewelry, keep things jotted down in a notebook. Contact a few of the retailers prior to your trip, let them know which day you will be arriving and what you are looking for. On your arrival to their store you will be pleasantly surprised by what your clerk has set aside for you. They will want to get you an exceptional deal because you are now considered a friend, simply by contacting them ahead of time.
