Spending day in Galveston

We will be cruising on the Grand Princess March 3-10. We can get significantly cheaper airline tickets home if we leave later in the evening on the 10th. We wanted to spend some time in Galveston anyways, so it seemed to work out good. Our only concern is what to do with our luggage for the day while we hang out in Galveston. We really don't want to drag it around with us all day. Does anyone have any ideas on a solution??????????

How about renting a car? Keep your luggage in the car, explore at your leisure and return the car at IAH or HOU. Several threads on this board deal with renting in Galveston and dropping off at the airports.

I have to agree with yst347 about renting a car in Galvaston and then returning it at the airport. That is exactly what we did and it worked out great and ended up being cheaper than having a driver take us to the airport.

Thanks both of you. That is a great idea and it solves our problem. I didn't realize there was a rental car place in Galveston. I have already looked into it and it will be cheaper then doing the shuttle thing.
