I am looking for information from anyone who has departed NYC in Feb.

I am going on a cruise to ST. Thomas in February. It is my first cruise out of New York. How long does it take before you reach warmer temptress. What can I expect the fist morning? my ship departs the city at 4:00 PM.

Crusman is right on.We had a Balcony on Starboard side .We enjoyed the trip down the Hudson from it.you will see the Lady with the lamp lit & a Police escort till you hit the Ocean. We still had our regular clothes on .The next day She must have hit the Gulf stream because it was already shorts weather. We had the Balcony door wide open for 8 of the 10 days. This was in March this year.We drove down from Canada ,Stayed the night at the Shereton NJ (opposite the Port,NY).Left the car there for free.Saved $25/day to park at the Port.

I live In Ct. I plan on taking the train or getting dropped off by family , getting there is not a problem. I live about 1 hour from the cruise terminal and never thought about departing out NY until this cruise. I decided to go based on longest trip for the cheapest price. somewhere along the way I figured out I could save $300-400 pp leaving out of NY and not flying. Even If I take the train in It is Only 31.00 pp round trip and 10.00 for a cab to the port.

I am excited to see how it all works out!
