RVAMember Posted December 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2006 HELP... Can anyone please suggest an inside stateroom on the Summit? We are cruising in Alaska in July 2007. We will be on the Penthouse Deck, but our friends only want to get an inside stateroom. Are there any ones to avoid, i.e. they are next to the elevator shaft, or by a staff stairway that they use at all hours? We could certainly use some help, as none of us have ever sailed on Celebrity before. Please help if you can. Thanks, Mike and Bernie
judyfssw Posted December 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2006 One suggestion would you to go onto the Celebrity website, choose your ship and the deck that you are on. I would try to find a room next to other inside rooms - maybe in the middle of the ship or towards the back and choose one.
wvufan Posted December 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2006 We suggest avoiding those near the front of the ship on the upper decks due to noise from the club at night. The bass travels through the steel skeleton of the ship. Happy sails to you OOOEEE:D :D Bob and Phyl
RickT Posted December 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2006 I often book an inside and here are some things I look for. 1) Never book a cabin above or below anything that can make a lot of noise (restaurants, clubs, casino, etc) 2) Never book a cabin next to any cabin that will hold more than 2 people. 3) Try to avoid cabins near stairs or elevators (wouldn't rule them out either) Other than that, preference kicks in. With an inside cabin there really isn't much difference by deck. I do like the middle cabins on decks 7-8.
RVAMember Posted March 15, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I really appreciate it. Still wish we could make contact with some fellow travellers, but so far no responses.... I guess July 27th is still a LONG way off.... but luckily I feel like it is flying! I'm on the lowest deck 2076, I have no idea how to read the ship cabin map, I'm between cabins but I hope that I'm not near a service elevator, seems I'm not near stairs or elevator, would you be able to take a look and give an opinion? Not that I can do much about it now, I booked GTY. Thanks in advance!
