mringenoldus Posted December 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2006 My little 3 night Enchantment cruise with my grandson has grown to a group of 12! (10 adults, 2 children) Getting to the precruise hotel and to the ship will not be a problem as the service is provided by the hotel. However, disembarking is a whole other story. Even a limo won't fit us with the luggage. Should I order 2 limos or has someone used a good transport service that will get us back to FLL fairly quickly? Typically, there's something more reasonable than RCCL transfers. I'd appreciate all the advice I can get :)
Bequia Posted December 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2006 FLL is only 2.5 miles from Port Everglades, a quick 5 minute ride. Grab three or four cabs for the short hop. Cabs are plentiful and cheaper then a limo or the cruise ship shuttle. ;) /////
nanfromatlanta Posted December 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Cabs are the fastest and cheapest way from the port to the airport. There will be tons of them lined up at the terminal.
mringenoldus Posted December 11, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2006 I had no idea that the airport was so close to the pier. We'll all jump in 3 cabs and be off! Thanks a million for the advice.
sunlover5 Posted December 11, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2006 When we disembarked there last March, there were also a lot of van taxis that would accomodate you. Maybe you could grab one of those for at least most of you along with a regular cab!! have a great time.
Rare TPKeller Posted December 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2006 According to Google, it is 2.9 miles. You can see it on my Fort Lauderdale cruise map. :) Click on the "Help" link on that page for instructions on how to get directions to points on the map. S.S.Oceanlover Posted December 11, 2006 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2006 One other thing to expedite your trip back to the airport. Once you locate your luggage grab a porter and he will take you and your bags through the sea of humanity and get you a taxi. Otherwise you'll be standing there for quite awhile unless you are extremely pushy. Bill
mringenoldus Posted December 12, 2006 Author #9 Share Posted December 12, 2006 Since it's only a 3-nighter, those of us who don't OVERPACK could haul our own suitcase off the morning of disembarkation. (However, I have one daughter who's hopeless!)
