Back from the Maasdam 11/30-12/11

Just returned home this evening from the Maasdam and thought I would post a very short review, since there have been some negative postings about her in the past.

When we boarded, she was fully "dressed" for Christmas....beautiful.

Our cabin was on Main deck and in the 11 days, we had NO toilet or A/C problems of any kind.

We were on "Code Red" for the first 3 days, but the Maasdam staff, as usual, went out of their way to make things as normal as possible.

We did have 3 days of heavy seas, two of which closed the Lido pool, but this is to be expected this time of year leaving from Norfolk.

The Maasdam is a beautiful ship with an outstanding crew and staff and I'm sorry to see her leaving Norfolk.

I will try and post a short review tomorrow.

We had a wonderful time on that cruise, too! I was glad that no one seemed to get sick on our cruise.

I don't know if you saw us, but my mom and I were the two fools who were swimming in the lido "wave" pool on one the first two sea days, right before they closed it. Wheeeeee!!! :D

We were on Main deck, too-cabin 537. Not any problems for us, either-everything was wonderful!!

Ruralcountrylover...

I like your name - I'm from Virginia country too! :)

Thanks so much for the review. We'll be on Maasdam in April, leaving from Florida. I wish I had been able to take advantage of leaving from Norfolk. It would have been so convenient. Hopefully HAL will put another of its ships there. I believe they are redoing their port in Norfolk and RCCL will be there.
