GCS-LifeIsGood Posted December 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2006 Hello, I will be cruising on Holland America Line arriving in Costa Rica (Puerto Limon) on March 20th. I am in a power wheelchair and am looking for a suitable tour for myself and my two parents. I am interested in seeing the natural, architectural, historical, and cultural sites of Costa Rica. HAL has no options for me. Does anyone know of any reputable tour operators with wheelchair accessible options?
DEL67 Posted December 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2006 Can you transfer to a taxi or van? If so, I would suggest taking a manual chair in addition to your power one and hiring a private tour company to take you to the Torguero Canal. We did so when we were in Puerto Limon and assistants at both ends ot the canal trip were willing to lift my husband in his manual chair in/out of the boat. We did not see as many animals as I has hoped (take binoculars), but we did see some and the commentary was interesting.
GCS-LifeIsGood Posted December 14, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted December 14, 2006 Thanks DEL67. Transferring from my wheelchair is not really doable for me. Thanks for your reply.
