CCress9324 Posted July 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We have always had main seating on all of our cruises. It looks like on the Destiny that late seating would be better looking at the itinerary. For those that have been on the Destiny, I would love to hear your opinions regarding the early and late seating. Which you preferred and why? pholter Posted July 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We actually normally do late seatings, but chose the 2nd early one for this cruise so we could come back for dinner and still go back out for some nightlife on the islands of Barbados and Aruba. For the most information about the Destiny, here is the thread that most post on and read for everything you wanted to know and some things you didn't :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44544&page=
serene56 Posted July 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2004 Dining time is a personal thing. Seems you are in port late a lot of days. Another thing to keep in mind is you have early port days. Do you plan on getting up early and doing the ports?? Having late dining and trying to sleep in hard. Coming back from a port at 5pm when dinner is set for 6 is do-able. It means you gotta rush back and get ready for dinner with no down time. but you will have that rushing on the other two nights. dinner is at 8:30 and port time has you on land til 10 and 11pm. But let me ask this question--is there a time zone change in San Juan and Aruba compared to our eastern time zone....
chilldowns Posted July 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2004 We had main seating, but were seated at the 6:15 time, instead of the 5:45 time. This worked well. We managed to hit the dinner in the dining room every night, despite doing excursions all day. I guess it depends on how much "primp" time is required, and how many people are trying to grab a quick shower!
