Ponce, PR -- Pier or Tender?

Has anyone been to Ponce on HAL recently? I'm wondering if you dock or or take a tender boat.

Sorry, I haven't been to Ponce for several years but I do remember that at that time we docked. The pier then was a fair way out of town but the Mayor of Ponce put on shuttle busses for HAL passengers. I like Ponce much more than San Juan and if you go be sure to take the free shuttle around town (at least it was free several years ago). You can find the free shuttle by the Fire Department Museum which you can't miss because it's painted bright red with black stripes.
