review of Ocean Sky hotel-Lauderdale-bequia

We sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale several weeks ago and like everyone else flew in the day before. We needed a room and did some homework. We settled on the Ocean Sky on Galt Ocean Dr. This is the property that was formerly a ramada. We were pleased with our stay. For ocean front with a balcony the $99 a night rate was a bargain. The room had been freshly painted, nice carpeting and the beddings was all new. No bugs or other critters. Only problem was being told that our rooms weren't ready and later found out that they were. Not a big deal as the ocean grill down the street has great food and nice company. The magager promises more improvements to this property and these was some construction going on during our one night stay. Bottom line is---this is not the ritz but is a very nice option for a pre-cruise stay in Lauderdale.

Didn't know the Ramada was no more. My previous stays there were always satisfactory. Good neighborhood.
