British Airways Baggage Allowances - new policy

BA are changing their baggage allowance policy from 13th Feb 2006. For those of us who cannot pack lightly ( wife especially ) and travel in cattle class it's each extra bag costs £120:eek: See the link below for details.

Maybe they were getting ready. I flew British Air into Heathrow 15 December from JFK. No carryon. Everything was packed in in one large, red, bag. They weighed it and marked it and put on a large, yellow, band reading "Heavy." Have not seen them before note the weight nor state it HEAVY!

 

(Soon it'll be dark on the shortest day of the year. Makes you forget heavy bags and airlines ... which today and yesterday were in havoc due to fog.)

We should note from the BA site that

World Traveller customers travelling to or from the US, Canada, Caribbean, Nigeria, Brazil and Mexico will continue to be allowed two checked bags in line with the local government regulations.

So 2 bags are still allowed between UK and US - more space for the wife's shoes
