mringenoldus Posted December 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2006 We are on the Jan 3 Nassau and Cococay itinerary. My 10 year old grandson wants me to purchase some of the water activities for him on Cococay. Will it be warm enough for him to have fun in the water? I have read on the port board that cold fronts do come through - but in general, has anyone been there at this time of year and able to swim. (I may be kind of thin blooded as we live in the Phoenix area!)
caribsun Posted December 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2006 Bahama fact #2: Climate and water temperatures The Bahamas have a sub-tropical climate, about 340 sunny days per year and - according to astronauts - the clearest waters in the Caribbean region. It's no surprise that the Bahamas are such an important tourist destination, when you look at the temperatures across a full year. Average daily temperatures are: In the Winter:Maximum: 77°F/25°C.; Minimum 65°F/18°C. In the Summer:Maximum: 88°F/33°C.; Minimum: 75°F/25°C. And did you know that the water temperature in the Bahamas is never below 72° F (equivalent to 22° Celsius)? For some of the best Bahamas weather links click here.
