BBQ Restaurant in Houston?

Best by far is Goode Company on Kirby, also another location on I-10 but not quite as good. Close runnerup with a lot of locations is Pappa"s BBQ.:)

Goode Co. is excellent bar-b-cue. The Kirby location is the original and closer to downtown. It is also located just a few miles from the museum district. http://www.goodecompany.com/default.aspx

 

To each his own but I would pass on Papas. The Papas family owns a ton of restaurants in Houston and while the quality is high in all of them, none seem "authentic" to me. JMHO

 

My favorite place for bar-b-cue is Otto's. http://ottosbarbecue.com/ The original location would be my recomendation but they also have a location downtown in the pedestrian tunnels. I'm not sure but I think the downtown store is only open Monday through Friday.

Drexler's Bar B Q owned by the family of Clyde Drexler who played in the NBA. It is located downtown but cannot remember the address.

Drexler's in my opinion is overpriced and not that good.:(

I have been reading about Thelma`s Barbeque it sounds very good. We will be staying at the Hilton on Lamar. Thelma`s is at 1020 Live Oak @Lamar. I have no idea how long Lamar is but I think they are both in the downtown area. Would it be easy to get to in a taxi? Happy Sailing, Joy
