We taxied to a beach last time we were in Grand Cayman. I cant remember the name, but it was NOT Seven Mile Beach. It was right next to or near it though I believe.

Can you name some nice beaches you recommend? Trying to avoid a big big crowd.

We were at GC last Thursday when there were 6 large ships there, so the town was very crowded. We walked up Seven Mile Beach from the south end to the Hyatt. There were some areas that had a lots of people (Royal Palms and Marriot). But you could walk 100 yards down the beach and hardly have anyone around you. There were large stretches with few people and short stretches with lots of people.

I second this. We were there 2 weeks ago, with 8 ships in port. We were quite surprised to see so many quiet empty stretches of beach. Our taxi dropped us off at Sea Grape and it was VERY crowded. So we headed down the beach a bit, found a very nice spot of shade under a palm tree and dropped our towels in the soft sand. There was a beach stand a couple of minutes walk down the beach to get drinks. We felt like we had the best of both worlds!
