Presidents' Week - Which Cruise? NCL/Carnival

I am agonizing over which cruise to pick. I am a 36 year old female, very outgoing, separated over a year and need to go away without the kids.

I have two choices:

Norwegian Spirit - out of NY, stops at Disney (really want this), I live on Long Island so it's nearby. ($4270 total trip)

Carnival Elation - out of Port Canaveral, then followup with 2 days in Disney. I don't fly, so I'd have to take Amtrak to Florida to catch ship. ($3700 total trip w/Disney). It would be a lot of running around.

I'm not afraid to be/eat/have fun on my own, but I also don't want to make the wrong choice and would like to actually speak to someone else a couple of times on the trip. I guess I'd prefer the Spirit, but I'm afraid I would have a bad time (freestyle/different crowd/no activities).

Any input would be appreciated.

I can really appreciate your decision here.

First of all, during Presidents Week you are looking at a lot of family's and kids on either line as it is a very popular school break vacation time especially here in the notheast.

Personally, I have chosen Carnival because I love the traditional dining experience. I request a late seating and large table and I have always been seated with "like" Pax (even during summer months when it is a popular family time). I have thought about NCL but honestly Freestyle Dining scares me away so far! But, like I said, I love traditional dining and for me that is a big part of what makes a cruise different from any other vacation I have had.

I am sure you will have a great time whatever you decide....I also gave myself a childfree cruise as a "divorce gift" to myself and I it was wonderful!
