I loved this page of martini quotes from the menu at the Commodore Lounge on QM2. I took a picture of it and was surprised that it turned out well enough to read, so I thought I'd share it with you.....

What a gem! My favourite Dry Martini comment comes from one of the drinks' matron saints, Dorothy Parker:

 

I like to have a martini,

Two at the very most.

After three I'm under the table,

after four I'm under my host.

 

Getting the quote right, I found she also said:

 

Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common.

 

But then she did (keep) marrying Alan Campbell....and also said:

 

I require only three things of a man. He must be handsome, ruthless and stupid.

 

Time for a Martini!

Peter My husband always quotes Dorothy Parker too. We love to stay at the Algonquin Hotel when we are in NYC. We went to the Dinner and show about the Round Table and their 10 year lunch which was just delightful. We are going to stay at the Algonquin when whe get off of the Queen maryII this time.
