Tour Aruba by Public bus

We were in Aruba recently on the Volendam. I love snorkeling and my wife loves a smooth water beach. We went to the public bus station, right across the street from the port entrance, and grabbed the L10 (sp?) bus. We went past all the hotels and took the bus to the end of the line We ended up at Boca Catalina. It is a small beach with nothing but locals and vacationers that had been to Aruba before. There were no facilities. There were beautiful views, white sand and smooth water, but there was some coral pertruding through the sand.

After swimming for about an hour, we took a short walk back toward the port to an old wreckage that sticks up out of the water. The entire area is coral with abundant sea life to view snorkeling.

Once done, we hopped back on the bus to the port. Talked to another passanger that grabbed another bus to the SE, and got to see much of that end of the island. The fare is US$2.00 round trip, but you cam buy one way tickets for US$1.25. They take US dollars, but don't carry change, so bring the exact amoubt,

This is a great way to see Aruba, without the usual cattle call and cost.
