Fiji Resort Questions

Our TA has recommended staying at Tokatoka Resort near Nadi and the Castaway Island Resort.

 

We would appreciate hearing anyone's experience at either of these resorts.

Fiji is a popular destination for New Zelanders (as we are).

 

My first tip would be to stay on one of the islands rather than the mainland - do not stay for a holiday at Tokatoka resort! It is a very average hotel at the airport that is used for the overnight before you can get to the outer islands -serves its purpose.

 

Haven't been to Castaway but know lots who have - supposed to be nice (go to http://www.tripadvisor.com for photos and advice). Beachfront bures best as have been refurbished.

 

What is your budget and are you looking for a nice place? Let me know and I coudl recomend some places if you wish - depends on your budget.

We have stayed at Castaway Island and loved it. It was a long time ago though, back in the eighties and I am not sure if it has been upgraded since then.

 

If I were staying on the mainland I would pick a resort like one of the Sheratons or the Shangri-La.

Hi - The TokaToka is great for an overnight before or after a flight. It is clean and has a great pool, but I wouldn't spend any time there.

 

Go offshore (Taveuni is amazing). There you will truly see Fiji.
