CD List 2007

I see the CD for my Victory cruise is Jorge. He was my CD when I sailed on the Destiny 4 or 5 years ago and we liked him. Last year on the Victory, we had Malcolm Burn. I thought Malcolm was great.....WOO HOO!! He was also the asst CD the year before when we sailed on Destiny the second time. I think Maraschal was CD then.

I have a quick question,

Who is currently the CD on the Triumph since previous posts in the last few weeks had said Wee Jimmy, but now says Paul Santley. (BTW Paul Stanley is retired I would guess...IE frontman for KISS). I am interested to know because I did have Paul Santley on the Fantasy in May '05. My last cruise in May 06 we had Stuart Dunn, but I saw that he has since moved around a bit. I am leaving for Miami in two days and it would be nice to find out before we go. If it is wee jimmy or paul santley I'll be happy either way, as I enjoyed them both. Thanks!

 

Paul Santley is still the CD on the Triumph - I am just back on the 13th. He was great!! Enjoy your cruise. I hope you get to GC. We missed it because of rough seas so no tenders could operate. We got a $25 OBC and extra sea day instead. Bon Voyage!!

Just off the PARADISE (01/26/07 sailing) and the cruise director was Michael Mullane. Loved him!

I am just off the Inspiration yesterday 1/29. The CD is Risa Barnes. The one time I saw her, she was entertaining. However, I did not see her or know who she was until the last day. And I participated in a LOT of the activities. I was on the Grand Princess last April and the CD there knew me by name.......

Does anyone know what happened to Resa that was on the Inspiration last fall, can't recall the last name.

 

Also, I have heard so much about Big Tex any idea how long he will on the Fantasy?

 

Funny you have these two in the same post. I had never in 6 cruises paid any attention to the CD, until we met Risa Barnes on the Celebration! She was wonderful! We saw her on our first 2 Celebration cruises, then our third was the first week for Big Tex. Was not really that impressed with him compared to Risa, but he was new to the ship, so gave him the benefit of the doubt.

 

4th Celebration cruise - Big Tex again. Same material but a little better timing. Still not that impressive, but memorable because of his size and 10-gallon hat! Others have posted that he was very funny. I guess he kept improving his material!

 

5th Celebration cruise - was to be Chris Jefferson, but he was ill so they had a sub that had literally gotten on board that afternoon. It didn't take us long to be missing Big Tex! At least he did have some material! This other girl was awful! She only introduced herself as Dana and she was not listed in the Capers the whole trip. I don't know if its the same person as Dana Hodson or not. She was from England.

 

As for the poster who wondered why it mattered, again, we were the same way until we found a good one. Then it clicks and you do pay attention to who the CD is and how they do for every cruise you are on thereafter.

he makes a perfect assistant-- I just could never see him as a cruise director.

I wonder if the assistants fill in for cruise directors while they are on vacation.

I loved Risa on the Celebration. She knew me by name and was so...funny! She kept things running nicely!

why do people care who this person is? I don't get it. We've cruised 11 times in the past few years and a cd never made or broke my cruise.
