Cokeman1959 Posted January 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2007 I think I know the answer to this, but Princess stops going to the Mexican Riviera someimte in April, is that correct? No summer cruises down there, I don't think anyway.

SeaTeacher Posted January 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2007 Mexican Riviera is very hot and humid spring through summer. It's the rainy season too.
skarletohara Posted January 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2007 Princess always sails to Mexico between the months of late September to late April out of of SF, and now that route will be done out of San Diego starting next season. Princess sails out of L.A. also, during the same months.
Cruisin' Chick Posted January 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 2, 2007 Princess likes to have as many ships as possible sailing to Alaska. So they leave the MR summer cruises to mainly RC and Carnival.
platterb Posted January 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2007 As many people mentioned, it is very hot in Mexico during the summer. Generally the Caribbean islands are small, surrounded by water and you don't experience extreme termperatures. I think one of the primary reasons you don't see many ships sailing the Mexican Rivera is the hurricane season. Like the Caribbean, the Pacific hurricane season runs thru the summer as well. The difference: there are so many islands and options in the Caribbean that the ships can at least alter their ports of call to avoid the storms. You don't really have the same options in the Pacific; it's Mexico or Mexico.
