Hotels in Miami - Where do You Stay????

We are planning to fly a day earlier than our cruise, the end of January. just in case of the weather, and was wondering where everyone stays in Miami pre cruise?

Hopefully, we can get something that we don't have to rent a car to go out for dinner, maybe shopping, etc.

Any ideas????????

this IS the east coast departure forum....... isn't it ???????????

The OP started this thread elsewhere. I think it was under Ask a cruise question. The Mods must have moved it here, where it belongs.

Once the Mods move the post, it sure makes us look kinda dumb, huh?:D

I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Bayside. Right across the street and only about .5 mile ride to the pier. Not real fancy but close to shopping and cheap. They also have a resteraunt if you want to eat there. I booked for 153. 6 months in advance parents booked 199. 2 months ago We sail on Jan 20th.

We booked the HI Port of Miami prepaid for the 19th of Jan. for 153 and about 170 for the 27th and 28th. The last two nights were AAA discount.

We had to call the hotel direct to get rooms. The internet and 800 number said it was full.

Here's some info.

We just stayed at the Intercontinental next to Bayside Market and loved the hotel. I can't say that for the Market but there are some reasonable places to eat there. It was wonderful to awaken in the morning and be able to see "our ship".
