melika091900 Posted January 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2007 as soon as you board if the reservation dept is open, book all the places you want to eat at for the whole week,, i know it takes the meaning out of freestyle a little but we never got to eat places we wanted too since they were always booked, or we had to book 3-4 days ahead and the only time available was like at 9pm,,, so make sure you do that right away, theres a button on your cabin phone for reservations, you can use that for all the resturants,, IMO dont miss la trattoria, very good, and great service , and please miss ginza, horrible food and SLOW service, teppenyaki is good, but ginza, no way . hope this helps have a great cruise , melissa

judyf Posted January 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2007 The Star is a great ship. Don't miss the martini and margarita tastings. They are a great way to meet people and have some fun. Also attend the cc's get together, another great way to meet people. Have fun
jennib5426 Posted January 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2007 We loved Trivia every night in the Pub before dinner. It was always around 5:30pm and they have fresh popcorn for free. We never won but we had fun trying and met lots of people. Make all your dinning reservations the first day. The front desk will have all the dinning room menus and specialty menus so you can make resevations for the nights the main dinning room menu doesn't appeal to you. jarr0618 Posted January 3, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2007 We just returned from the STAR (12/16 sailing) - a great ship. I thought the menus were kind of limited (although) the table next to us one night ordered a steak and potato which were not listed at all on the menu). The food was OK, but I sure didn't starve. There was just not a lot of variety. Desserts were excellent - even the sugar free cakes. I was not that impressed with the Blue Lagoon, but my husband seemed to enjoy the hot wings! Enjoy...
