Excursions with 4yr old = St. John & Halifax?

We sail early JUne from NYC to Canada on the Miracle. Any suggestions on tours? We would like to take our son with us for at least one.
Any prior experience with little ones at these ports or suggestions would be great!

If it is offered, I highly recommend a visit to the Cherry Brook Zoo in St. John. The zoo specializes in exotic and endangered species. Our little one enjoyed it, as did we.

The Citadel in Halifax might be neat for your son. So might the Halifax Hopper, which is a tour of the city in an amphibious vehicle.
