We are a family of four husband and I 30 and 31 and two kids 5 and 7. We have not been on Costa either. We were on a cruise 3 years ago on Carnival with out the kids. This is our first Costa and family. We can not wait. Counting down. Do you have kids coming. We are renewing our vows it is our 10 year anniversary. And our first big family vacation.

Welcome Aboard Ginny an Family, and Tim and Wanita, We are also looking foward to meeting new people, It will just me and hubby 44 and 47, we have one daughter who is in nursing school so she will not be goining us this trip. ;) Hope we can get a active roll call going, we have a lot of fun on the RC roll call, I have one started for our sept cruise on the Mariner an it is 3-4 pages already so it is coming along. Looks like this thread has been looked at by lots of cruisers just not many posting, so all you shy cruisers come aboard we plan to have a wonderful time.

Has anyone planed their ports yet. If you are interested in parasaling I have a coupon for $29 it is $89 through ship.

I called Costa on Monday, January 8th, and Jerry(Costa Rep.) said that there is currently no inside quads left. That means that there will be a lot of families, assuming that anyone who books a quad would include at least three people. We are ready to go, but just curious about what kind of people will be our shipmates. We planned on going to Aquarium in Key West, Paradise Beach in Cozumel, and Stingray City in Grand Cayman. We have yet to book anything officially. Is anyone considering a rental car in Coz or Grand Cayman?

Wanita and I don't have anything booked either. We talked about going to the Hogs Breath and Kevin's Irish Pub in Key West, also Mel Fishers Museum. We went snorkling in Cozmel in November and didn't want it to end, might do that again. Stingray City in Grand Cayman is one of the things we are thinking about, never been there.

We will be inside on the Perugino deck towards the bow #7236

Never been on Costa before. What time will they allow you to get on the ship?

We will be staying in FLL Saturday night.

Also we are 46 and 35.

We arent sure about Key West may go Parasailing since I have a coupon for $29.pp . We usually go to Paradise Beach depending on the weather we may just bum around town. We plan to go to SeaGrape for a few hours while in Grand Caymen then go back in to town. We usually get a T-shirt from Hard Rock Cafe an the Harley Shop, with Margarittavill open we may have to stop in there. We have never rented a car much cheaper to get a cab, unless you plan to explore the Island then it would probably be worth renting one. We have been to Cozumel 4 times and Grand Caymen 3 times. We are in the middle of deck 8 inside room not sure of the room # I have somewhere.

We will be inside on the Perugino deck also, near the elevators in the rear. We are looking to buy some embroidered shirts in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It issomething we buy on all our vacations. Any ideas on where to buy? The rental car was only $22 a day in Coz, and a taxi to Paradise Beach said $15-16 each way. Even if we go nowhere else, that seems like a no brainer to us, but we are very frugal. That is how we can afford to go on a cruise!:)

Shawnonrev, when we went to cozumel in August, we found the venders at the peir more willing to bargan with you the shops in town we pretty much set on their prices. There is a shop near the center court at the peir that has a very nice variety of t-shirts , most are embroidered an good quality t-shirts. If I remember right the embroidered ones were like 7.99 or 2 for 15. their were several displayes that were priced according to quality. Who can you rent a car for for $22 a day? That is cheap.

Good to see I'm not the only one on this ship. First of all my DW Pam and I were on this ship last Feb. This ship has a lot of nooks and crannys and you can get lost, whereas the Mariner and Freedom has the royal promanade deck. Eating in the dinning room was an experience, we were at a table for 8 and ended up dinning by ourselves because nobody else showed up. The food was fabulous, probably the best ever for a cruise ship. Extra virgin olive oil and balsamic v at every sitting with fresh baked bread. As this is an Italian Cruise Line their were many eurpeans on this ship, and all announcements were made in different langauges. Key West-- Every time I go there I end up in my fav watering hole- The Halfshell Raw Bar. Coz---Paradise beach, beach chairs, umbrellas, soft sand, and buckets of CORONNAS. My kind of place. SEE YOU SOON BIG RAY

Welcome Aboard. Big Ray, & rikki racer.

I was a little worried about booking this cruise, rates were so cheap, I figured something had to be wrong with it, after reading that some of you have previously sailed this ship an doing it again, I am no longer worried. :D Just planing on having a good time. How is the night life? Hubby an I love to go to the different bars an lounges an listen to the music. ;) When on the Mariner we were never in bed before 3 am. Are the photos expensive? They are 20 bucks on Mariner for 8x10.

Hi everyone! I found this cruise by accident and just couldn't pass up the price! We are in steerage so please unlock the gate if we hit an iceburg (OK, not likely). If it tips over like the Posiedon Adventure then I guess we're on top! haha! Just kidding. My husband and I booked through Costa yesterday and I am ready to go! We have never sailed Costa and we have never booked through the actual cruiseline before. It's great to read the reviews of the ship as I thought something might be wrong because of the low price. Seeing how they are letting "kids sail free", I bet there will be tons of the lil' buggers on board! The more the merrier! I am a pediatric nurse so kids are my thing. Are you all flying in a day early or staying a day over? Is there a dance club? Karaoke? Midnight buffet? Any info would be great!

Thanks,

D

D welcome aboard, I also found this cruise by accident, I was searching for a cheap 3-4 nighter and this 5 night was cheaper than most of them. I searched for a week looking for a reason not to book an could not find one. :p There are a couple on this thread that have sailed this ship before an are doing it again so it cant be to bad. I usually sail Royal Caribbean but this was so reasonable we thought we would give it a try. Hubby an I will drive down the morning of, we are about 2 hours north of the port. Not sure of the activities, I will see what I can find.

I have been trying to log on since yesterday, site has been having tech, diffaculties.

Later Robin.

We are staying the night before and after. We have two small children and thought this would work easier for all of us. We are going to Ramada and they are going to pick us up at the airport and then the next day take us to the ship.

Then when we get back they are going to pick us up at the ship and take us to the hotel and the next day take us to the air port. They have a pool and hot BF. Total with tax for both nights is going to be $248.64. We thought that was a great deal sence a shuttle is like $50.00 for each family member. We are a family of 4.

I do not think it is around a lot of stuff but we will be tired after the air plane ride (kids first trip my third) and after swimming and dinner we will probley call it an early night.

We called them and told them we would be there before there check -in time and they said they do the ship thing all the time and that they take our suitcases and give us towels and we can swim and eat until our room is ready. They sound nice.

Hope this helps!

First time on Costa!!! :)

First time to Caribeans!!

Second cruise! Went to Canada with Hubby !!:p

First cruise with kids:o

Carol1870, welcome aboard. I made friends with a cruiser from Canada on our last cruise,Her name was also Carol, I think she was from the Vancouver area tho. ;)

mom and wife, I guess I am pretty happy go lucky. I just go with the intentions that I am going to have a good time. ;) If I find myself somewhere where I am not, I go elsewhere looking for adventure. I am not a big drinker although I do enjoy a few of the frozen foo foo drinks, I just like to laugh an have a good time.

Well enough for now I am off to the electric beach. LOL I am a natural red head so I have to work very hard on my tan. If I could get all my freckles to slide together I would have a awsome tan LOL.

Later all.
