pgh Posted January 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2007 I have sailed three times as a Gold Member and am sailing this Saturday on the Spirit - I have also sailed on previous NCL sailings in Penthouses - I have had "Priority Disembarkation" but never "Priority Check-In" - What is it? I called Lattitudes and they don't have an answer. I've asked at the pier and they put me on the Lattitudes line, which doesn't bother me, but why make the distinction on the list of membership benefits? Thanks! heelfan94 Posted January 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2007 I think it depends on which terminal. In Miami, there is a special VIP only line which is different from Latitudes. In Charleston there is no VIP line, only Latitudes. Those are the only NCL terminals I've been to but I do believe it depends on which one you're sailing from. :)
familyof4cruising Posted January 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Does VIP in Miami mean only for Gold and Platinum?
heelfan94 Posted January 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Does VIP in Miami mean only for Gold and Platinum? No, it's also for Suites and Penthouses. We were whisked past the whole line of people (felt really bad about that), checked in and walked past a waiting room full of people and onto the ship. cruiser12 Posted January 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2007 We were at the pier check in Boston and were escorted to a private area. I know from past check-ins in New York, they have everyone together Latitudes, suites etc. They seem to line up all together.
pgh Posted January 8, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted January 8, 2007 That must be the problem - I've only left on NCL from New York. It figures..... Has anyone left from New York and had priority check-in?
familyof4cruising Posted January 8, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2007 New York check in - everyone is in the same waiting area. Bridal parties first, garden villa and penthouses next , latitudes after that.
Cruise Kontrol Posted January 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Hi all, How about New Orleans-- we are sailing out of there in Feb, will be my first time as a gold member (apologies to James Bond :D ). Does anyone know how they do it at the NO pier?
snowman Posted January 9, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2007 Cruise Kontrol: We sailed out of NO in Oct. and it was the first cruise out since Katrina. They did not at that time have a seperate line. We waited in the regular line and after we gave the tickets to a person we escorted to a VIP room with lots of goodies. Shortly after that Anca came in gave a small talk and personaly escorted on the ship. We were suite passengers.
swoosh2005 Posted January 9, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 9, 2007 That must be the problem - I've only left on NCL from New York. It figures..... Has anyone left from New York and had priority check-in? as soon as you get in the building, after the porter has taken your luggage-find an NCL person and tell them you are a penthouse guest-not suite-it's penthouse and up -I don't know about what the criteria is for gold et al they will escort you right through the security (if the ship is in fact loading) and then will escort you or connect you with your concierge-Claudio was there to meet us and get us through the registration-from there it's right on the ship! It probably cuts a good hour off your wait time-
pgh Posted January 9, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted January 9, 2007 "as soon as you get in the building, after the porter has taken your luggage-find an NCL person and tell them you are a penthouse guest-not suite-it's penthouse and up" That is a good point. In the past I have seen a "VIP/Suite" line in NY, but I've only inquired once through security. Thanks.

In the past I have seen a "VIP/Suite" line in NY, but I've only inquired once through security. Thanks. IN NY, the VIP/SUITES/LATITUDES people all go up the stairs. Once upstairs, the VIPs & Suites guests go to one area and Latitudes to a larger area (because there are more Latitudes member). It's all the same second level, the 2 areas are roped off to differentiate from each other. You might not have any luck finding anyone to escort you upstairs--just go on up yourselves and at the top of the stairs someone will greet you, look at your tickets, and bring you over to the proper section so you can sit down. Have a great cruise!
swoosh2005 Posted January 9, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 9, 2007 I found this while searching for something else. http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/staticPages.html?pageId=latitudes_benefits we're usually not that early to go upstairs to wait. Unless the ship is really late-they've already started boarding when we arrive-hence we've been down on the main level
