tap & dap Posted January 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2007 I see all the talk of not being able to take food off the ship, but do they allow you to bring sodas and snacks onto the ships from the different ports? Always like to bring a six pack and some chips on board for the room versus trying to buy them on board.
gail811 Posted January 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2007 I carried on two six packs of the small diet cokes and put them in my fridge on the Spirit. I had no problem carrying them on.
Budget Queen Posted January 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2007 I have frequently brought cases of soda on ships, no problem. the Tongass stores in Ketchikan at the dock, have run their 6 pack "specials" for years. :) Brought back those several times when running low. :) Snacks no problem either. :)

GATOR MOM Posted January 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Why not just buy the ship soda card & drink all the soda you want...they lose money on me...I am addicted to Diet Pepsi...now...if they would just offer a beer card...that I have to carry on board??? !!!
Silver Streak Posted January 11, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Which cruise lines have the soda cards and how much are they? How do they work? This sounds like a good idea!:)
Budget Queen Posted January 11, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Nope the soda card is not for me. going back and forth, back and forth getting a glass of soda, and usually watered down fountain- every time from a bar- forget it. Cans are better.
Budget Queen Posted January 11, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2007 Which cruise lines have the soda cards and how much are they? How do they work? This sounds like a good idea!:) They all do, they are for unlimited fountain drinks from the bars.
tap & dap Posted January 11, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted January 11, 2007 I agree Budget Queen the soda card is great during the day and such, but at night while sitting around relaxing don't want to run all the way to the soda machine to get a drink so the cans or bottles work great. Does Princess has refrigirators in the rooms or just have to use the ice bucket?
kingsgirl Posted January 11, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 11, 2007 And...a fact I didn't know. You can't get your pop unless the bar's are open which is sucky.
GATOR MOM Posted January 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 11, 2007 I've never had a soda card problem...waiters will eevn bring you a soda while sitting poolside...& waiters have my soda waiting for me at the dinner table...as I said...they lose $$ on me with the amount I drink...I know it's not healthy but so be it :)
qiangf2 Posted January 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted January 11, 2007 You know you can bring wines on board as well.. Not sure whether they officially allow it.. But they won't check you.. There might be $10-$15 corking fee if you take it to restaurants.. But I just enjoy it on balcony on my own leisure..
Toyz711 Posted January 11, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 11, 2007 on NCL they charge $15 for wine brought aboard, doesn't matter if it's to drink in your room or in the restaurants.
