chessbriar Posted January 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2007 Take the Brilliance. We have been on both ships. Brilliance is a larger ship with more amenities. With the number of days as sea you will have, they will come in handy
Sandel Posted January 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2007 We have been on both ships and I would choose the Brilliance. She is larger and newer. Sandy
Rare Host Anne Posted January 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2007 We've sailed Brilliance (her sister Jewel) and Mercury (Galaxy's sister). We'd pick Brilliance, too. She is built on the same hull as Celebrity's M-class ships (Millennium, Summit, Infinity, Constellation). Ship for ship, we like Brilliance better than Mercury/Galaxy (although we enjoyed both of our cruises on Mercury). I'd probably consider price in the equation as well, but would give the edge to Brilliance. She's a great ship!
caviargal Posted January 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2007 I answered this on your other thread but I would also choose Brilliance. She is a gorgeous ship and the amenities and options she offers far surpass those of Galaxy for a TA, IMO. Normally, I would choose X but the ships are very different and in this case, itinerary is key as well.
C 2 C Posted January 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2007 Brilliance is a nicer ship but we're on Galaxy because of where it goes and where it came from. There's nothing I can say that's positive about Galaxy other than exceptional service and better food (Subjective... my taste buds X vs RCI). We were on Galaxy for two voyages last May. The ship is LONG overdue for a facelift and rehabilitation... but cabins are clean, there is nightly live music and dancing, but it ends in Puerto Rico very close to Christmas. The 14 days prior it goes to Alexandria Athens, Istanbul. I'll give up a lot of glitz to see the pyramids. I picked Galaxy, warts and all, for 42 days.. 3 two week voyages in a row. You must decide if the ports of one make up for the shape of the ship.
