nclady1956 Posted January 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2007 Hi, Our group of about 20 is taking the 14-day cruise to Hawaii on Summit in November 2007. We are all very excited and want to ensure our hard-earned $$ are spent wisely. Most in the group opted to reserve CC cabins mid-ship and we were assigned 9131, 9133, 9137, 9141, 9145 9149, 9153, and 9157. Does anyone have information (pro or con) about these cabins? Also, one party has reserved 6026, which appears to have the oversized balcony, although it is at the front of the ship. Will the rough seas in the Pacific be a problem? Any advice in general on cabin selection on Summit is appreciated. We made our reservations back in October 2006, and hope our advance planning pays off. Thanks everyone! CGTNORMANDIE Posted January 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2007 Those cabins are fine...they are underneath the Waterfall Cafe where there is carpeting...so you will not get a lot of noise from above while you are in your cabin. The staircase is closeby so you can just head up above without an elevator. We had 2 cabins just behind you and they were excellent. Are you sure that your friends are in 6026??? There is no larger balcony there...and it is far enough from the bow.:D
Ontario Cruiser Posted January 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2007 We were in 9154 on the Summit Nov 25/06. Wonderful location and no noise. Just one flight up for breakfast and pool deck. We are also thinking about the Nov 9th cruise to Hawaii. Loved the Summit Sherrill
jaynak Posted January 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2007 Are you sure that your friends are in 6026??? There is no larger balcony there...and it is far enough from the bow.:D Your friends will infact enjoy their much, much larger balcony as theirs is one of the forward 8 rooms on each side of the M class ships which (on the Penthouse Deck) have these large balconies. (otherwise known as the sweet16 on these boards). We loved our room 6018 on our cruise to Hawaii in January '06 and no we didn't find it too rough or too far forward - it was just too wonderful for words! We will definately book any one of these 16 rooms again. Jayna k

smilin47 Posted January 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2007 Hi ... two years ago, we were in 6027 (the other side of the ship) and the balcony is indeed double sized. It was not a concierge class room at that time and although we requested a lounge, we were told we couldn't have one. They gave us 4 chairs & a table but no lounge. The room is a typical room. I'm sure the folks in 6026 will be very happy. We had planned to do a cruise this Feb & had reserved 6027 specifically for the larger balcony but unfortunately, circumstances forced us to cancel the trip. nclady1956 Posted January 14, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Thanks, all, for your helpful posts. To summarize for others, the "Sweet 16" on the Summit (and I would guess other M Class ships) that are priced at Cat 2C and have twice the size balconies are: 6016 to 6030 even number, inclusive 6021 to 6035 odd number, inclusive The deck plans do not show this, but photos posted by others helped me learn about this. Heimlich, I loved your tiki lights on the balcony! I will pack some for my trip. Thanks for sharing your photos. I'm also thinking of getting a couple of thin, low-cost folding lounge chairs in San Diego and packaging them as luggage to bring on board (I have a layover day with friends in San Diego on Nov. 8). Will eliminate the need to fight for deck space when I'm ready to sun! Hope others find this information useful. Regards,
