I know it is very early but we have booked the Tahitian Princess for 4/19/2006, 10 night Tahiti cruise. Has anyone done this cruise and if so how did you enjoy it? We are in an aft Owner's Suite on deck 6.

Thanks.

Hey there

My partner and I were on the ship this past March. The cruise was great and the ship was a good size, the ship was a bit quiet at night and the casino was small but we did ok there. We had a cat aa mini suite cabin 8026, but we just booked again for March 10,2006 and booked the OS suite on deck 6 aft 6088 (I think).Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you.

Thanks for the info...generally what age groups did you encounter and how was the dinning room on-board? We've never done a fixed second sitting before, always had personally choice...how did you find it?

Thanks

Tony:cool:

The age group we noticed was 60 and up.I am 43 and my partner is 47 there where a few in our age bracket but not many.We had a great time and met some great people and we met a couple of gay couples as well. The ship gets quiet at night (many people go to bed early)this was not a problem for us the casino kept us busy and the disco was ok as well. We had second seating a table for two and it worked out great dinner was at 8:30 so we never had to rush from any shore exc.We had one of the best servers we had ever had on any cruise her name was Sorina from Romania.Check to see if she is on when you sail and ask for her.( we had to change tables when we boarded so we tipped the Mat-D and he took care of us.

We also flew in 2 days before and did 2 days post, this worked out great and we missed the cruise ship crowds at the airport. If you can go Business do it we flew Air Tahiti Nui the planes where new and the service was great.

Great too hear from you Tom..geez were 37 and 36..yikes I guess we may be the youngest ones onboard? We'll hence the nickname "HighRoller" I play blackjack a lot so I'll be in the casino at night while the one bites his nails watching me play! We arrive a day before we board and we are flying business on Air New Zealand and staying 4 days after in Moorea at the Intercontienental....then it's off to Sydney for 4 days before we board the Sapphire Princess for Xmas/New Years cruise.

Will look out for that great waiter on the second sitting...how was the food BTW?

Thanks

Tony

My partner and I are planning a trip sometime in 2005 on the Tahitian Princess. Would love to see some pic from anyone who has been on this ship before. We've been on the Grand Princess and liked that as well. We live in Ft. Lauderdale and have been on RCCL, NCL and of course Princess.

Hey guys

Jerry I will be sure to let you know of any information when we get back...

Tony

The food was good to very good, we also had one meal in each alt.restaurant, the steakhouse was very good, but I thought Sabatini's was much better on the Grand and since we go to Italy a couple of times a year not much can compare to actual italian food and cooking. You will have to let us know how the Intercontinental is on Moorea, we will be doing two day post on Moorea and it's a toss up btwn Sheraton and Intercontinental. We want to do Australia someday can't wait to hear how it was.

Hello,

My parnter and I are booked on the Tahitian Princess Jan. 12, 2005, can't wait. We just got scuba certified in anticipation of doing some diving while there. Has anyone done diving in Tahiti? Also curious to find out more about the ship. We're booked into a mini-suite cabin.

Thanks.

Hey HighRoller,

We just got Padi certified last weekend, going our first solo dive 8/7 to the Coronado Islands. Love it already and Tahiti should be fantastic!! We're already considering taking the Advanced Open Water and Nitrox classes after we get a few dives under our belts. We had a great instructor, and we had private lessons which was also nice.

While in Sydney there is a really nice small restaurant off of Oxford street called YIPPYIO....spelling might be off but its close. Somewhat mixed crowd..mostly gay, but staff is gay...Tony the owner.....to die for. It was BYOB a year ago.....but food was fabbbbulous and people watching supreme. One of the appetizers was spring rolls with fresh tuna served with a sweet papaya sauce....incredible. Do eat there.....deserts, if still the same will increase your weight limit when boarding aircraft. For a small cute breakfast try cafe Mephisto on Oxford...its very interesting...ground floor is a leather shop, piercing and clothing, and barber shop, udsatairs is the cafe. Breakfast was great and also lunch...everything cooked fresh...nothing fancy. Its fun if shipping in the gay shops along the street.

Do climb the bridge! The jet boats in the habour re fun. Do take the ferry over to Manly beach...bondi beach is by bus...but the 30min ferry to MAnly is wonderful.

Enjoy Sydney...I am going back in 2006.....its a great place with great people!
