CHACruiser Posted January 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2007 We have been on a cruise on the Veendam. How would you compare the Prinsendam SS cat to the Veendam S cat? and anyone been across the Atlantic from FL to Portugal in May? Seas still rugged? Thanks! avalon1025 Posted January 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2007 I sailed the Prinsendam for the first time Dec 15th 7 nights in cabin 004. I have sailed in cate S's on many of the other ships and the Prinsendam cabin was very nice. I peeked into the cate SS and they were very nice as well, more in line with a cate SS on a vista class (a bit plainer, more floor space do to what lookd like less furniture). The P-dam is very different than the other HAL ship, she is special due to her size and atmoshere. You will love the ship if you are looking for a quiet, real ship experience. The ship deos move a bit though, nt sure if it was having a cabin on deck 12 but it did move!
Grumpy1 Posted January 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2007 We spent 113 days in an SS on the world cruise. we were very pleased with the cabin. We have been in Cat S on Noordam, Westerdam and Prinsendam, but not on the other HAL ships so I can't make a direct comparison. An SS on Prinsendam is smaller than the Vista S's that we have been in, but it is laid out in a way that makes it seem quite roomy.
