seajay312 Posted January 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Just booked out Disney Cruise, was curious what was meant by the term "Navigator" balcony (partially obstructed) Could someone explain this to me. Thank you.
alwayscruzinonmymind Posted January 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Its called a Navigator Balcony partly because of its decorations & being enclosed. Its a completely enclosed painted white metal balcony with an oblong open port hole(no glass), its not open & airy with plexiglass that allows you to see the water when sitting like the majority of balconies on ships but it does allow you to be on the balcony if the wind is blowing because you are enclosed. You have to stand up to see out the open port hole & see water you are not able to sit and see out because the port hole it higher than where you are seated. It has a small round table, chair and a built in bench seat on one side & navigator maps on either side of the wall as well as a ships clock inside a small round ships steering wheel. I was pleasently surprised with it and felt more secure with my 4 yr old granddaughter than on an open balcony. Would definitely book one again. We did not have any obstructions and were at the aft part of the ship. Expedia has a photo of it when looking at cabins on the Wonder on their website. We had 3 cabins with this balcony & I thought my family was going to be upset and it turned out we all liked it.

woody73 Posted January 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2007 We had a Navigator's Veranda on an Eastern Caribbean cruise, and we were pleased. It's not as nice as a standard veranda, but it's not nearly as costly either. Woody
