Miss_Ivy Posted January 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2007  I will be arriving in San Juan 7/1/07 on Destiny. I was booking my excursions on Shoretrips, and it said to make sure the cruise your on has the same time zone the ports do. How can I find that out. Info will be great, Thank You. cruzeluver Posted January 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Cruise ships do not adjust their time to the local time. They stay on the same time as their port of embarkation. So if your ship departs from Florida, it will stay on Eastern time for the duration of your cruise. Hope this helps.

It is the Captain's option to change ship's time as it sails into different time zones. I have sailed on identical itineraries in which the time never changed on one, and on another, we had to set our watches several times to reflect local times. Time changes, if any, will be announced in your daily bulletin, Patter, Currents, etc.

Well, let me ask this, when you guys book your excursions do the company let you the time differ or what. serene56 Posted January 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2007 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock at the present time San Juan is one hour ahead of eastern time. San Juan does not do Daylight savings time.. so in July San Juan will be the same time as eastern time. Use the clock above to check out what time is each port. Also-- please check ou tthe port of calls board because a lot of those tours shoretrips do--can be found cheaper elsewhere
