ParrotRob Posted January 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Someone sent us a gift of Funship Dollars for our March cruise. According to the certificate, I need to put my booking # and cabin # and send it in to them to get OBC, at least 15 days before I sail. I was under the impression I could just take the certificate with me and drop it on my tab at the purser's desk. Anyone have experience with these? If I wait and take them with me do I lose out? Deb&Bert Posted January 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Don't SEND THEM Take them right to the DESK and they will put it on your SAIL AND SIGN CARD As credit.. We have done these on 2 cruise NOW.... No problems... Have a great CRUISE
suziehmkr Posted January 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Deb is correct. I had enough funship dollars to cover our tips... went to the purser's desk on the first day and they put them on our account. They do have a cool way to check to see if they are real too! luvz2run2000 Posted January 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Take them with you and remember you don't have to deposit them on your account as soon as you board. Wait until the lines die down a little. At the beginning of the curise there will be a long line and most of the people in line will have a problem or be upset about something (big or little). Don't start your vacation in the middle of all that negative energy. Last time we took our funship dollars to the purser's desk in the middle of the night as we were leaving the casino. Friends took theirs the next day....do it when it's easiest for you.

truecruiser Posted January 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2007 i'm doing this for the first time too in a couple of weeks. i'm going to follow the advise of the CC members who have posted on here and in other threads that you may take them w/ you. (i don't like the idea of mailing them away anyway. they're like cash). so, if they give me a problem on Elation, i'll just tell them that CC said i cld bring them:D
serene56 Posted January 19, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I get paid every two weeks. I take $25.00 and buy one funship dollar each pay-- By the time I sail I have accumulated several hundred dollars. For me--its a fun way of saving. It takes at least 10 days to receive one-- so every week I am buying one and the next week I am getting one in the mail. It alsomakes the cruise come a lot faster--lol :D
