Thoughts on Voyager Class vs. Freedom Class Ships?

Recommended Posts

We're considering an RCCL cruise this year and always go on Princess

and once on Celebrity. I was on RCCL Monarch 12 years ago and

remember having a good time.

My question is for all of you experienced RCCL cruisers, what are

the pros and cons of these ships? The biggest con I can think of

is nearly 4,000 on one ship creating chaos in a tender situation???

I'm very interested in what everyone thinks of the food quality of

Voyager vs. Freedom.

We are a couple in our 40's with no kids FYI.

I've had occasion to see the Mariner when it was behind us in

port once and it looked like a beautiful ship.

I'm particularly interest in comments of those who've cruised with

Princess as well.

Thank you!

I've cruised on the Adventure and Explorer (both Voyager class) and loved both. I would like to try Freedom class in the future but think this class might be too big for me too. I like the idea of big ships, just not the idea of more passengers. i would say try Voyager first and see how you like it!

i've been on 3 of the voyager class ships and loved them all!!! Our next cruise were taking, we were talking about this even today, is on the freedom of the seas. Both class of ships are about the same, really. Just freedom is newer and slighly bigger. Freedom has the same layout as the voyager class ships, just with newer things like wifi, flat screen tvs in all the rooms. Also a boxing ring, and the water surfing in back. Trust me you won't notice that theres near 4000 people on the ship. I wouldn't of knowed there was 3400 or howmany people on the voyager class ship unless you told me. Except when you need to use the elevators, using the elevators around dinner time is a nightmare! I would think that will be the same on the freedom of the seas also. If it was me, I would choose the Freedom of the Seas!! It has the same style of the voyager class plus more!! The travel channel just had a show on the freedom of the seas with samatha brown, i've watched it a few times already.
