Vehicle Rental Galveston to Austin

I have some friends who are entertainers on a ship based out of Galveston. They are musicians with quite a bit of equipment. Their contract is up in February (they have been on the ship since October, flying from Austin to Barcelona).

 

I am trying to rent a SUV,van or truck for them to pick up in Galveston and drive home to Austin. They can drop the vehicle off anywhere in Austin the next day. I have tried Hertz and Enterprise with no success.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions? Cost does not matter since the cruise line will pay whatever it costs for them to get home. They would have to shuttle from Galveson to Houston to fly home which would be a major ordeal with all their stuff. I do not relish driving from Georgetown to Galveston to pick them up but will do it as a last resort.

 

Can they tell the cruise line I will do it for a free cruise? ;)

Try calling U-Haul. They have cargo vans available. It won't necessarily help to transport them, but it will haul their stuff.
