NikkiFer Posted June 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2004 Does anyone know of a good Dive tour in St Maartin? We are going on the Mariner of the Seas and will be in St Maarten from 7am to 6pm. What about Nassau? We will be ther from 8am until 2pm. Would it be better to dive there? We are just getting our certifications complete now, we will be cruising in September Nikki (O.A.T.C. & Proud of it!) Nitrogen Junkie Posted June 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Don't know of a good one but can advise you to avoid Scuba Fun. Dove with them in Feb '04 and was by far the worst dive trip ever. We had to walk to the shop which was too far to tote gear. Boat was extremely overcrowded in spite of their assurances they don't run cattle boats. We had to set up our gear prior to leaving the dock as there was not enough room for gear bags, and when we surfaced from the second dive, the boat, a 28' inflatable was sinking!!! with nearly a foot of water on the deck. Crew bailed the entire way back to dock.

KazinSD Posted August 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2004 Hello, We used the Scuba Shop/Dive Safaris. They had a very friendly staff and were concerned with everyone enjoying themselves. Check them out here: http://www.thescubashop.net/index.htm They took us to the sunken ship HMS:Proselyte and to the 'Fishbowl" with some coral arches and tons of fish. Saw a few lobsters too. Very easy dive even though top side was a little rough. Have fun
sea-jay Posted August 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2004 If you are going on the Mariner Eastern Caribbean you may want to skip St Marteen and dive in St Thomas instead. I have not heard very much good about St Marteen (although I haven't dove there yet) but did dive with Coki Beach Dive in St Thomas. This was a shore dive to two reefs just off Coki Beach. I didn't do the dive in Nassau because of the timing. Too close to missing the boat if something happens.

Orcrone Posted September 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to be diving on HMC (Holland America's private island) and St. Thomas. Orcrone
