Spirit-Feb. Robes, specialty restaurant

First time Carnival cruisers here with some questions.

1. Are robes provided?

2. What is the name of the specialty restaurant on the Spirit?

3. Have heard on the boards that there is no sail-away party out of San Diego going to Mexico. Why is that? Not like Caribbean ports where everyone is in the pool at sailaway?

4. On an 8 day cruise with four sea days, when are the formal nights?

Thanks for your help!

I just returned from this cruise on Thursday (sniff)

1) Robes are provided

2) The restaurant is called the Nouveau Supper Club

3) There is no sail away party. I have no idea why, but we did stand up on deck as we pulled out of San Diego, it was very nice.

4) The formal nights are the first sea day (the day before Acapulco) and the second to last sea day (the day after Manzanillo).

If you have any other questions I will try to answer them for you.

I also posted this on a separate thread, so if you see it, don't feel like you have to answer twice!

We've only sailed Celebrity, which was pretty "formal". For the two nights we have formal nights scheduled on our upcoming Carnival cruise, should I plan on bringing a long dress, or something knee length, but fancy? I don't want to over dress. Also, the website says the other nights are "casual", which means WHAT? Sport coats for men? Button down with a tie? Pants or dresses for ladies?

I wore two formal gowns and the other nights I just wore nice summer dresses that were knee length. My hubby wore a suit on formal nights and the other nights he wore dockers and hawaiian style shirts, no tie or jacket. Most people in the dining room were dresses similarly.

Here are links to our formal night pictures:
