If you have a dive buddy, just walk over to Divi Flamingo Resort and dive off their dock. Weights, unlimited tanks, and the Marine Park pass were only $30 total and they have a great reef. They are located only about 200 yards from the gate after you get off the ship.

 

Take a look at this picture. The red roof building at the end of the dock is Divi Flamingo's Dock. This picture was taken from onbaord the ship, so you can see how close you are.

If you don't have a dive buddy, it appears you'll have to go with the ship's excursion.
