All that I heard it good, I just got mine. A friend who own his own business. He orders all his products with it, pays it off quickly and reaps the rewards quickly. I'm just starting to use it for all my daily purchases that I used a debit card for.

From what I have been reading on these boards it is worthwile. I plan on getting one. Do you know if you make your final payment for a cruise with this card do you get double points? What do you need for the qualifying 2,500 points?

Thanks

All the details are posted in the RCI web site. There is a .pdf file you can read and print out.

1. Any qualifying RCI purchase gets 2x points.

2. Your first qualifying transaction gets the bonus 2,500 points.

I have the card, got the 2,500 bonus points, and charge my RCI expenses on it for 2x points.

The deposit, the final payment, all charges onboard the ship, all excursions you buy ahead of the cruise with the card or on the cruise, even cash at the casino is double points ($2000 a day).

My only complaint:mad: with the RCI Platinum Plus is no extended warranty as I get with AMEX for major purchases. But last Tuesday I was called by Bank of America credit dept that I was being upgraded:eek: to a RCI Signature Visa which has major perks galore & is fee free. SO I am extremely happy with the service.

The cruise coming up with VISA points, Stockholder reward, onboard booking, we are getting over $600 OBC. YEAH:D

I just got the card two weeks ago...I'm using it as I would my debit card and then pay it off every month. I'll also use it to pay for tuition, room and board for my son's college...so you know, that will kick it up quick! :) You get the 2,500 bonus points as long as you use the card to purchase something within the first two months of having it. I just booked a cruise last night and used it to pay the deposit, so that will get me twice the points right there as well as when I pay for final. I plan to bank up my points to get a free cruise instead of using 5, 000 here and there for a $50 onboard credit.....that's what my RCCL stock shareholder's credit is for!! :D

We love our RCCL Visa card. We use it for everything. Even if we have the money we charge it just to build up points faster and then pay off the ballance that month when the bill comes. Last year we turned in our points for a free 4 day cruise on the Majesty. This year we're turning in our point for on-board credit when we cruise Alaska in July.

We got a call from B of A yesterday, but we don't take solicitation calls. SO... maybe they are calling their customers to "upgrade" them? By the way, with the Signature card, do you continue to earn RCI points?

Yes, it's the same as the Platinum Plus......double points for all RCI purchases and final payments on RCI cruises. Single points for everything else. Only added feature is the extended one year warranty on major purchases.

I was given a web address for Signature Visa & just d/l & printed 6 pages of perks. All my points from the Platinum Plus move over to the new card even after I cashed in the 10,000 for $100 OBC. Better early for April cruise.

Some key perks: $3000 for lost luggage. Auto rental collission is foreign countries is covered, you do not buy rental company's insurance. They even notify folks if we are running late (guess we sign up for this cause how do they know who to call). AND NO CREDIT LIMIT! WOW!!!!

Brenda, I think that you had better call B of A and get it in writing that the points roll over from your Platinum Plus to your Signature card. I just called to check on doing the same and I was told NO, they are two separate cards (handled by the same company) and the points DO NOT roll over. I was told that I could have two cards........which is pretty stupid to me.

I decided to play the RCI game and call B of A again. Got a different rep this time and again was told that NO Royal Caribbean points are not eligible to be transferred to the Signature Visa. They are two entirely separate cards......even if it says Royal Caribbean on the card.

Also asked the rep about the fact that we are D+ on Royal Caribbean and she had absolutely NO CLUE as to what I was talking about. So, if this new card is being offered to D/D+, it must be being handled directly through RCI, cause B of A has no knowledge of it.

and they are rolling over my points & my RCI charge for April cruise if it shows before 2/6 billing date when we close the Platinum Plus after I pay it off. I told them I didn't want to lose the points for the cruise I was paying for getting double points. He told me it would rotor over to the new card since it is RCI charge.

So I paid off my RCI card as of today, as my Money program & B of A site agree on the balance. I put both cards in the safe til we get the new card then we charge again. So tomorrow they can give me my new account # & close the Platinum Plus.

Correct and that's how it should be. But, my point is that if I wanted to upgrade to the Signature Visa today and close my Platinum account..........all of the points that are currently on my Platinum card would NOT BE rolled over...........I would lose them all.

to the Signature Visa guy & he stated "she probably was talking with the old Platinum Plus folks at the 800-421-2110 phone #. Signature Visa has its own phone number for the Concierge as well as C/S. He assured me that I have 50 points transferred + the cruise coming, so we paid off the Platinum Plus card so it is a -0- balance tonite, so the new card will have our cruise on it. He promised to phone me with my new account # to give to RCI. Then we will have $3000 lost luggage insurance........... and 5000 more points.

I will buy a new SUV with it since we pay off the card on the morning of the billing date so we are always -0- balance due. But no home........

No Credit Limit??? WOW is RIGHT!!! So you can purchase a million dollar home I assume on that card! RIGHT!!!! LMAO

This is the number that the Platinum Plus people gave me.......1-866-253-0576. I called twice today and both times I was told that I could open a Signature Visa card, get a new account number, but that my points from my Platinum Plus could not be rolled over.

Oh well, we don't need all those fancy perks anyways.....and there's no way we are going to lose all the points that we have accummulated on the PP card to gain some additional perks.

Thanks for the information. BTW....would be kind enough to share the phone number that you called and read my post to. I'm willing to give the number that you have a shot.

Maybe somebody else would like to call the number listed above and see what kind of response they get.

I don't really want to call. I am satisfied with my PP card. I just cashed in for 2 free on the Liberty cruise, so I am pleased with my perks from that card. Unless I want to buy a HUMMER, (LOL) then I may consider going to the NO LIMIT Signature Visa.

P.S. and when you pay off your SUV in one lump sum (since you pay the balance off every month wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before it is due) don't forget the IRS will be notified for any payment made over $10,000. It happened to me when I bought a Cadilac in 1990 and payed $32,000 cash. Just so ya know it!
