Christmas on FOS

I've booked our first cruise with FOS sailing Dec 23rd, and I was wondering if you could tell me what it was like onboard this Christmas 2006

. Was there anything special going on, did they have a special menu Christmas eve/day.

Was it horrendously busy?

Was it decorated?

- any info would be gratefully received - thanks, as we have no idea what to expect, and although suprises are good, we do like to be prepared!!!!!!

I can't tell you about Freedom of the Seas or Christmas 2006, but on Mariner 2005 it was great! The only drawback was that we were on St. Thomas Christmas Day and only the tourist traps were open -- none of the shops in town. On the other hand -- how can you beat Snuba diving in December? There was a special Christmas dinner -- prime rib or turkey. The wait staff did a little Christmas carol concert. There was a party for the kids with Santa Claus in the skating rink -- my son got a RCCL backpack -- we also had gifts in our stateroom -- a JS. The decorations were beautiful. Another drawback to my mind was although they had tons of Hannukah events, we had a hard time finding a Christmas Eve/Day service. Finally found out that a Baptist minister who was on the cruise asked for a room and was given a small room in the bottem of the ship in which to hold services. No mention in the schedule and not all the guest relations staff knew about it. I have no problem with the Jewish population celebrating their religious holiday -- but equal effort should be made for the Christian population. Enough of my soapbox -- the cruise was wonderful -- and not as many children as on the Spring Break cruises. A lot of families, though.

We did Christmas 2006 on AOS and it was really nice. Everything was decorated, santa made a special trip down the rockwall, which was quite humorous...and Christmas carols in abundance. I must say that you really didn't have all the tradition of Christmas like you would at home, but it was still fun. Have a great time.
