Priceline/Hotwire San Pedro

Has anyone used Priceline or Hotwire to book the Doubletree in San Pedro? In the Summary of Winning Bids thread, I am seeing lots of winning bids for the Crowne Plaza, but nothing about Doubletree. I am wondering if that is the only 3-star in the San Pedro area.

 

Any experience with this? I am nervous to try it!

If you specifically want the Doubletree, don't use Priceline. It seems that Crown Plaza has been hitting quite a bit lately. I have gotten the Marina (Doubletree) on Priceline several times over the past few years. I prefer it because you can park your car there at no additional charge. I didn't want to chance it this time and just booked the hotel directly. $84 per night includes the room, 7 days parking, and round trip shuttles to/from the pier. That is a special rate for government/school employees.

I just (last night) got the Doubletree for Feb 2 & 3 for $75. plus taxes. came to $180.40 for all. Free shuttle to port. Now if they will give me HH points, I'm all set.
