pari727 Posted January 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Hi, we need two things clarified please. First cruise to the med and this is our plan so far for the port of Villefranche... From VF we will take the 100 bus to Monte Carlo (frequency appears to be better than the train which is only once an hour). Spend the morning in MC then catch the 1:20pm bus # 112 to Eze, have lunch and spend two hours. This is where we need help, what is the best way to get back to VF. If we walk down to train station, can we buy a one way ticket at this "whitstle stop location" for the train back to Villefrance? What would a taxi cost from Eze to Villefrance? there will be six of us so cost may be worth it. thank you, I know there is a lot on this topic but I couldn't find my way back to vf from eze if I didn't start with a rount trip ticket from VF or wanted to go to Nice. We will, if we have to, buy tickets at VF for use in Eze sur Mer if it's necessary, but of course would rather know now and not when we're standing there wondering what to do!!!! Susan-M Posted January 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2007 We did it in reverse order ... I've copied some of the travel details from a review that I wrote: Villefranche - in port from 10am - 11pm Tendered ashore at 10:15 and walked to the bus stop next to the TI office. Caught the 10:37 bus (#100) to Eze Bord du Mer, then the 11:10 bus (#83) up to Eze Village (#83 only runs from May-Oct.) . From Eze Village, took the 12:50 pm bus (#112) to Monaco Carlo. Walked down to the Casino, around the harbour, up the hill to the palace in the Old Town of Monaco. From the palace we walked to the train station to catch the 4:29 pm train back to V.F. Travel costs for the day were 1.3 E each for the bus from V.F. to Eze Bord du Mer (used the same ticket for bus #83 to Eze village) 2.2 E each for bus from Eze Village to M.Carlo, and 2.3E each for the train from M.Carlo to V.F. Bus and train schedules proved their worth here as it meant no waiting. Bus schedules: http://www.eze-riviera.com/emotions/deplacement/ang/bus.htm (for bus #83) and http://www.lignedazur.com/ (for bus #100 & other routes). Train Schedules: http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvHomePage?_CMD=cmdHomepageUK To answer your question re coming back from Eze, I would try to plan to catch Bus #83 from Eze Village to Eze Bord du Mer, so that you can connect to bus #100 going back to V.F. The walk down from Eze would probably take 45-mins to an hour on a fairly steep and winding road (or on the trail).
