Need Help with semi-complicated transportation problem re Houston-Galveston & back

Okay, so here is the deal. We are cruising on Princess Grand out of Galveston... leaving on 3/31/07

 

Our flight from California arrives at iah at 1:30 am on the 31st.. so we are going to get a nearby hotel and try to sleep a little...

 

The problem then arises concerning transportation.. we are looking for a economical (cheap and easy) way to get to the cruise terminal in Galveston on the 31st....

 

then to make matters more complicated.. when we disembark on the 7th, we want to get back to a hotel near iah... our flight leaves iah at 5:50 am the following morning...

Please help with all viable options.. Currently looking into Enterprise, but don't have the local Galveston #.. Thanks

Yes, I would think your best and cheapest bet would be a rental car. I'd call Enterprise or others you could use to drop off a car somewhere close to Galveston.
