Aruba Lisa - can you help me please??

I will be in Aruba twice - we are sailing on the AOS back to back beginning February 25th. We sailed on the AOS last January and loved it! In Aruba we rented a Jeep and spent most of the day at Baby Beach which was awesome because we have a 10 year old daughter and the water was calm and shallow.

This year we want to do a day pass to a resort. I have looked at the Renaissance Aruba and understand that for $50 we can spend the day at their private island. My question is: can we spend the day at the hotel itself instead of the island? We really want to spend some time around a pool ( my daughter is not a fan of salt water and has to deal with it for 14 days so we want to give her a pool day!)

I am also looking at the Allegro. In your opinion, which is better? I'm not all that concerned about cost.

I appreciate your help, and thank you in advance! :)

The Renaissance is the only resort I am aware of which offers a day pass. Now with that being said, if you read back through some of the previous threads here, the Ren will only sell passes when their occupany rate is below 90%. I would contact them directly and clarify the policy and whether or not you are allowed use of the other resort facilities (honestly don't know that one).

Also have you verified with Occidental that they offer a day pass? If so would you mind sharing the info with us? The Holiday Inn used to offer a day pass and has a beautiful newly renovated swimming pool. You may wish to contact them also. Yet another option for spending the day at a resort, as other cc'rs here have done in the past, is bidding on a room at a resort through priceline.com

Lisa - thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly!

I actually called Marriott this morning and got the email address for the Renaissance - I emailed them with my questions and hopefully I will receive a response either way.

I have only "heard" about day passes at the Allegro - don't know much about it except that some folks say they do offer these passes.

I am looking forward to visiting Aruba twice this time - a beautiful island!

Thanks again!!! :)
