Food available in between meal times?

Someone told me that the only time you can get food on ncl is their breakfast, lunch and dinner times. There's no hamburg station, pizza, deli etc. Is this true? What about after 10 pm, anything available?

So not true.. Food is available 24/7

Nonesense...there is always room service both hamburgers and pizza are available through room service. There is food through the day and on every new ship there is a 24 hour snack bar. There is food available in the casino on most ships after 11 pm...or some other place throughout teh ship....

There is food in some of the bars, there is food at a BBQ who ever told you this probably never cruised NCL.

Also remember that the buffet is open from 7- 10:30...again from 11:30-3 and reopens at 4 for afternoon cakes and cookies. and opens from 5:30-10:00. Sometimes the buffet is even open at 6am for conitnental breakfast.

Room service is 24 hours a day.

Chocoholic buffet is usually one evening after 11PM.

Late night snacks in the casino, finger foods usually.

Newer ships have the Blue Lagoon which is open 24 hours a day.

With freestyle dining food is unlimited...... you can have dinner in 3 or more restaurants an evening if you like.:) Your not limited to early or late seating for dinner.

Even the older ships have something available all of the time. On the Dream the Pizzeria had pizza, pasta, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, salad bar, fruit and cakes, along with tea, hot chocolate and water. The Sports Bar buffet had hot entree items, salad, desserts and fruit. I really don't think you'll have a chance to go hungry on any NCL ship. :)

On the Dawn last March my DD discovered the Blue Lagoon pound cake and I am certain that we enjoyed this wonderful treat 24/7. :D A great find, altho not good for my hips! Seriously, I'm certain they are open all hours and having checked my Freestyle Dailies there appears to be something else open pretty much all day and night.

I'm not sure when or how they thought the staff was suppose to change over to lunch or clean anything!

Grand Princess did a nice job of this with their "two sided" buffet. One side or the other was always open. One side would serve breakfast while the other (closed) side prepared lunch. At 11:00 or so, the lunch side would open and around 11:30 the breakfast side would close, change over to lunch and reopen for the high times when both sides would open (e.g. noon - 2 for lunch, 5:30 - 7 for dinner). It was really an impressive system they had running. I particularly liked it since we always seem to eat at odd times and frequently were disappointed on other lines to find we had to wait a half hour for the buffet to open to grab a snack.

This would only make my decisions on what to eat that much harder! LOL I can see myself just starting at the breakfast side, rolling around to the lunch side, then continuing on through dinner! I'd never make it out of the food area without a gurney to be wheeled out! LOL

On my last cruise there were people who complained that the buffet was closed from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. I'm not sure when or how they thought the staff was suppose to change over to lunch or clean anything!

OMG-I'm sure I would starve!!! ;)

Sparky-I wonder if the person who told you this might not just be a former disgruntled cruiser who thinks they have a score to settle w/NCL. As you can see in the above posts, food is readily available.

SPARKY12, What ship are you thinking abour going on? Check the NCL web site and you can find out what each ship has for 24 hour food.

The newer ships have the Blue Lagoon's that have 24 hr food, Burger and Wings,,,,, The Majesty has the San Carlos that has pizza, burgers, hotdog. There is always something to eat.

Someone goofed! There is food everywhere! On the Dream the have a really good barbecue by the pool. One day they even had paella with big, juicy shimp at the barbecue :) . We loved room service! Last night on board we ordered sandwiches, wrapped them up and had them on the plane the next day. The fruit and cheese platter we ordered through room service was really good! :p Our DS loved the room service pizza!

NCL rocks!

On the Sun last week they were doing the same thing at the Great Outdoors Cafe. Breakfast was being served until 11:30AM on one side while the other side was being prepped for lunch. There was a very nice overlap between 11:30 and Noon.
