Pros and Cons of Reserving with Tour Operators

If I don't have a reservation what are the chances of getting on a tour as a walk-on in Belize port? (or Limon or Colon). Does anybody have any experience in general with this topic? I'm on the Carnival Legend on Feb. 4.

Our excursion for cave tubing was canceled and we did not have any trouble picking up an excursion at the last minute at the dock. I would recommend trying to get to the dock fairly early to allow for the most amount of time to line something up and then to have time for the excursion.

We were there in Dec. and were booked with cave.tubing.com, but there were quite a few people standing around with signs advertising excursions right on the pier area and just outside the shopping mall. I also saw a couple of storefront or booths selling excursions. Since we didn't price any of these I don't know how full they were, but from the number available I don't think you'd have a problem.
