normpear Posted January 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2007 We are so accustomed to a smoke-free workplace and smoke-free restaurants where we live. When we took a Mariner cruise to Alaska five years ago, I thought it was smoke-free. Is this not the case on the Mariner Caribbean cruises? Are the restaurants at least smoke-free? dfb Posted January 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2007 RSSC is NOT smoke-free. There is smoking allowed in cabins, on balconies, in Compass Rose in one corner and on one side of the Pool Grill area. There may be some other designated areas, basically where ever you see ashtrays, expect smokers.
traveller333 Posted February 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2007 You shouldn't have any problem on the Mariner with smoke except for the casino. The ventillation is excellent and the smoking section in the diningroom and lounges is very small.
Jim B Posted February 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2007 We just got off the Mariner and did not have any problems. One day on our veranda we got a whiff of someone smoking a couple of times but never lasted and was not a problem.
AtA Posted February 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2007 Obviously they do a great job in assuring that passengers don't have a problem with the smoke since you thought mariner was smoke free on your last cruise. ;)
Shawski Posted February 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2007 We were on Mariner in Alaska last year and the only problem we had was that someone in a suite between our suite and the stairs was a heavy smoker, so every time we walked down the hallway we had to hold our breath! Other than that, I never noticed anyone smoking.
