alli Posted July 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2004 We have been offered a coupon book 'worth' $ 300.00, I figure there will be some spa discounts in there, but what else is offered.
GoinCruisin Posted July 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2004 We got one last year and it was a joke... we did not use a single "coupon"... same deals you can basically get on the ship... it was very disappointing...
Cotton Posted July 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2004 Really not much. I've seen the book (and someone on here has the entire list), but it's nothing to get excited about. Most of the coupons are 2-for-1, or are for things that Carnival already offers complimentary. I think they list champagne and a free art print at the art auction - which is comp to all passengers anyway. 10% off on one item in the gift shop - they have sales every day already. Things like that. Maybe somebody can post the list for you.
tef43 Posted July 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2004 As the previous posters have mentioned, the coupon book is much ado about nothing. It is designed to project the illusion that you are perhaps getting something "extra" which is definitely not the case.
serene56 Posted July 27, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2004 EVERY coupon you have to buy something in order to get something free. (free wallets when you buy an 8 x 10 photo was a good thing--saves 5 bucks
Frequent Floater Posted July 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2004 Spa coupon was for 15%off ONLY while in port. What a rip. I did use the buy any frozen drink and receive a souvenir glass free coupon, 10% off any 2nd bottle of wine ordered at dinner as well as the wallet photo ones. suzycruise Posted July 28, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2004 If you are offered the so-called $300 "value" coupon book or a cabin credit of a lower denomination, by all means take the cabin credit. Even if it is for only $25 you are still ahead with the CC. The previous poster was correct in stating the coupon book is a Joke. It is also insulting to be offered this so- called "value". Take an upgrade or the credit but never take the book.
LuvSun&Fun Posted July 28, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2004 I've never heard of a coupon book. Does everyone sailing receive one or is this something Carnival would give you for a cruise that's dropped in price?
Cotton Posted July 28, 2004 #9 Share Posted July 28, 2004 Carnival doesn't give coupon books. This is from an online agency, used as a gimmick to get business.
