Group upgrades?

Recommended Posts

What are the chances of a group of 8 cabins being upgraded or even being close together?
That is just not enough information to even guess. Were the eight cabins booked as a group or individual reservations? Are they all guarantee assignments or have you picked individual cabins? Are they all in the same category?

If you book as a group and all have 4A cabins, Carnival will try to place you all together. They may also upgrade everyone to a different Cat. 4 deck. If you have picked individual cabins, Carnival will rarely upgrade you but it has happened.

Anne, I sailed on the Triumph last August with a group of 19. We booked a group rate. All but one cabin booked an 8A. The lone cabin booked a 6A. All of us received an upgrade. :D All the 8A cabins were upgraded to an 8C, and put in the same location and the 6A was upgraded to an 8A.

Hope this helps!

We are sailing during Christmas and booked 1 cat. 11, 4 cat. 6A's, and 1 cat 4A's. We have been upgraded to a cat. 12 and 5 cat. 6C's. Not too bad for a holiday cruise! However, we did book over a year prior to the cruise. Good luck!

We had 10 couples book 10 rooms on the Conquest (sailed Feb 2004). 9 were inside on the Riviera Deck (steerage?) and one was a porthole, same deck. All 10 couples were upgraded to Main Deck (cargo?) 9 inside, and one got a window... we booked with a PVP directly through Carnival...

Booked 8 cabins on Conquest sailing of 6-1-03 Booked 6 4A cabins and 2 8A.

2 8A cabins were upgraded to 8D. 6 4A cabins were upgraded to 4G and received shipboard credits. 2 4A cabins that family of 5 was booked in were only upgraded to 4C but received a very large shipboard credit. I assume that was because of the triple cabin needed and upgrades were limited.
